Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Southern Classics Speed Shop website (southernclassicsspeedshop.com) and our iPhone and iPad app. Short version: we sell car parts. We don't run ads, we don't track you across the internet, and we don't sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.

What we collect, and why

• Browsing the catalog — nothing personal. The site and app don't require an account, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. Your cart lives on your own device until you check out.
• Buying something — checkout happens on Square's secure payment page, not on our site or in our app. Square collects your payment details, and your name and address if you choose shipping, to process the order; we see the order itself (what you bought and how you're getting it), never your card number. Square's handling of your data is described in Square's privacy policy.
• Commenting on an event — the display name you type and your comment are stored and shown publicly on that event's page. That's all a comment contains. You can delete your own comments from the device you posted them on, hide other commenters, or report a comment to us; we review reports and remove anything that doesn't belong.
• Calling or emailing us — we get whatever you send us, and we use it to answer you.

What we don't do

• No selling or renting of personal information — to anyone, ever.
• No advertising networks, no cross-site or cross-app tracking, no data brokers.
• No accounts, passwords, or profiles for customers.
• The app doesn't ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

Who else touches data

Two service providers make the shop run: Square (our point of sale — it holds the catalog, prices, stock and processes payments) and Google Firebase (it hosts this website and stores events, news and comments). Both act as processors for us; neither is permitted to use your information for their own marketing on our behalf.

Keeping and deleting information

Order records live in Square for as long as bookkeeping and tax law require. Comments stay until you delete yours or we remove them. If you want something about you corrected or deleted — a comment you can no longer reach, for example — contact us and we'll take care of it.

Kids

The site and app are a retail parts counter, not a service directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date.
